Christmas time is almost here, which means it’s time to get ready for tons of holiday fun. Whether you’re looking forward to ice skating at Winterfest or seeing the Nutcracker performed by the Tulsa Ballet, there is plenty to look forward this upcoming winter season. Here are the must-see Tulsa Christmas events in 2017 presented by Attend Tulsa.


Winterfest, Nov 24-Jan 7

Winterfest is arriving in Downtown Tulsa for its 10th anniversary this November 24th. Stretching for 45 days, this event gives everyone a chance to enjoy Tulsa’s 9,000 square foot ice rink. In fact, it’s even larger than the one at Rockefeller Center in NYC. So, what are you waiting for? Bring your warmest jacket and your sharpest skates to enjoy the event that always has Tulsa swarming with people from across the nation. Other must-see Winterfest events include the Ready, Set, GLOW Tree Lighting Ceremony and Breakfast with Santa.


Bethlehem Walk, Nov 30-Dec 3

Experience the very first Christmas with Christview’s Bethlehem Walk. This event features a guided journey through the first century Bethlehem. Visitors will be led through wooded church areas all the way to Bethlehem where they will interact with prophets from the Old Testament, shepherds, the three Wise Men, Roman soldiers, and other travelers. Your walk will end in a stable with Baby Jesus and a variety of live farm animals.


Amy Grant & Michael W. Smith, Dec 1

On December first at the BOK Center, Grammy winners Amy Grant and Michael W. Smith will co-bill their annual Christmas tour with the season nine winner of “The Voice,” Jordan Smith. The legendary singers will join a full symphony orchestra to bring you the holiday classics you know and love.


Pops I – Home for the Holidays Featuring Jeff Shadley, Dec 2-3

If you’re looking for a great way to kick off the Christmas season, TSO’s Pops I is a great place to start. Running from December second to the third, this new tradition in Tulsa of classical and jazz holiday tunes will surely put you in the spirit. This concert features vocalist and trumpeter Jeff Shadley, along with the Tulsa Symphony Orchestra, led by Pops conductor Ron Spigelman. The whole family will enjoy this jazzy twist on your favorite holiday songs.


Cascia Christmas Walk, Dec 3

Running on Sunday, December third at Cascia Hall Preparatory School is the 25th annual Cascia Christmas Walk. This event includes the most popular decorated holiday homes in Tulsa. You can also do some holiday shopping at the Christmas Boutique which has over 60 vendors of clothing, food, and decor. Additionally, you’ll also be able to purchase warm meals, desserts, and coffee. There are even two new events added to this year’s Christmas Walk: an Art Walk and a Santa Brunch for younger children. Tickets can be bought in advance for $15, but cost $20 at the door. If you’re planning on attending the Santa Brunch, tickets cost $15. However, all tickets can be purchased online at casciahall.com or in person at Cascia Hall.

A Christmas Carol, Dec 8-23

Tulsa’s “A Christmas Carol” runs on select dates from December eighth to the 23rd at

John H. Williams Theatre. This musical experience, put on by the American Theatre Company, has been a Tulsa tradition for 40 years and counting. Watch Charles’ Dicken’s classic work about Ebenezer Scrooge’s ghost-filled Christmas adventure and learn all about the true meaning of Christmas right along with Scrooge.


The Spontaniacs! Comedy Improv, Dec 9

Tulsa’s very own improv comedy team, the Spontaniacs, is once again putting on its annual holiday show. Using unscripted suggestions from the audience, the team will create a totally unique holiday-themed comedy show complete with scenes, music, dancing, and a whole lot of fun. Tickets to this one of a kind show cost $8. Grab your friends, head over to the pH House, and prepare to laugh yourself silly at the Spontaniacs show.


The Nutcracker: Tulsa Ballet, Weekends Dec 10-23

The holiday season cannot truly begin until you attend a performance of the classic Christmas ballet, the Nutcracker. Watch as the marvelous dancers of the Tulsa Ballet bring this story of Clara and her magical nutcracker to life. Hundreds of local children join the professional ballerinas to put on this wonderful production. This Christmas fairytale is perfect for people of all ages. The Nutcracker ballet runs from December 10th to December 23rd at the Tulsa Performing Arts Center.


LeAnn Rimes Today is Christmas Tour, Dec 15

Celebrate Christmas the country way with LeAnn Rimes’ Today is Christmas tour. Enjoy a combination of holiday classics and original songs, all in Rimes’ unique vocal style. This is one Christmas concert you will not want to miss. Head down to the Paradise Cove for a truly unique holiday experience. The event is open to everyone 21 years and older.


Home For The Holidays 5K and 10K, Dec 21

There is no better way to celebrate Christmas than by doing good and giving back. That is what the Home For The Holidays 5K and 10K is all about. December 21st is National Homeless Person’s Remembrance Day. In honor of this, 15 percent of every registration fee will be donated to the National Health Care for the Homeless Council in order to help those who need it most this time of year. Now is the time to hop off your couch and start training for the 5K or 10K.
