Art For All

Developed from the content included in the Art for All Teacher's Guide, this digital education project, made possible by the Edward and Betty Marcus Foundation, enables students, researchers, educators, parents, museum visitors, and art enthusiasts worldwide to access in-depth information about important works in the Old Jail Art Center's permanent collection.

There are currently four digital units included in the Guide:

Ancient Art I: Pre-Columbian Sculpture --------------------------- Ancient Art II: Chinese Tomb Figures

Each of the digital units contains information about the artworks as well as the artists or cultures that created them. A timeline, pronunciation guide, and glossary are also included. The Activity Arena included in each unit introduces one to media, processes, and/or cultural information through instructions for hands-on art projects or through interactive media. A quiz included in this section can also gauge reading retention and understanding of content. The Teacher's Guide for each unit includes a printable version of the content, a sample lesson plan, discussion starters and suggested activities, direct access to the glossary and pronunciation guide, a downloadable lecture aid (Power Point), and access to the Old Jail Art Center's Green Art Research Library.
