First initiated in 2000, the annual student art show is held each March to celebrate Youth Art Month. This juried art show is open to students from Shackelford and surrounding counties in the 5th through 12th grades. The 2012 theme is "Talking Back." This year, students will enter works using a variety of media in response to selected artworks from the OJAC collection. Best in Show and Awards of Merit will be given to outstanding submissions. The OJAC Junior Docents plan, judge, and curate the show. Their selection of artworks for the exhibition is based on five criteria: interpretation of the theme, creativity, craftsmanship, artist’s statement, and conformance to the competition’s requirements.
